Twitter, now officially called X, is one of the most popular social media platforms for sharing updates, news, and trends in real-time. If you want to join X in 2025 but don’t know how to create an account, this simple guide will help you set up your profile quickly.
Step 1: Visit the Twitter (X) Website or Download the App
- Open your browser and go to https://x.com
OR - Download the X (Twitter) app from:
- Google Play Store (for Android)
- App Store (for iPhone)
Step 2: Click on “Sign Up”
- On the homepage, click on “Sign Up”.
- You’ll see two options:
- Use Phone or Email
- Continue with Google / Apple (optional)
Step 3: Enter Your Basic Information
- Full Name → Type your display name.
- Phone Number or Email → Choose one for verification.
- Date of Birth → Enter your DOB correctly.
Tip: If you don’t want to share your phone number, use your email ID instead.
Step 4: Verify Your Phone or Email
- If you used your phone number, you’ll receive an OTP via SMS.
- If you used an email, check your inbox for a verification code.
- Enter the code to continue.
Step 5: Create a Strong Password
- Choose a secure password (at least 8 characters).
- Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols for better security.
Step 6: Choose a Unique Username (@handle)
- Select your Twitter handle (e.g., @YourName).
- If the username is taken, X will suggest available alternatives.
Step 7: Set Up Your Profile
- Upload Profile Picture → Add a clear photo or logo.
- Write a Bio → Introduce yourself in 160 characters.
- Add Location & Website (optional).
Step 8: Follow Topics & People
- X will suggest trending topics and popular accounts.
- You can follow them to personalize your feed.
Step 9: Adjust Privacy & Security Settings
- Go to Settings & Privacy → Manage:
- Two-factor authentication (2FA)
- Account privacy
- Content preferences
Step 10: Start Tweeting on X
- Click on the “Post” button to share your first update.
